She was questioning a Santorum campaign person on his comments about phony theologies and his statements on Obama's values etc. She let this rube get away with saying that he wasn't questioning his theology, he was questioning his "radical Islamic policies"
What? and you didn't call her on that!?
Did anyone else hear this?

(23,926 posts)To be fair, I believe her. The moron in question had repeatedly invoked "radical environmental" policies, and she simply misspoke. Andrea just heard what she expected to hear. (Sure, the moron in question may actually believe that President Obama also embraces "radical Islamic" views, but I don't think she meant to say so at that particular moment.)

I do not say 'radical Islamic' views by mistake because I do not think it.

Those kind of lies need to be stopped in their tracks. By not challenging her guests. Mitchell allows the lie a bit more traction in the legit media.
I'm sick of these TV talking heads allowing RWers to spout lies, never challenging them on the fact that facts aren't on their side.
The RW realizes that as long as they can get on TV and spout their lies without question, they will gain ground in moving the conversation from the actual to the mythical.
How hard can it be for the Andrea Mitchell's of the world to have a cheat sheet of facts handy to challenge these knuckle draggers?

People rarely if ever make those kind of comments in a public forum unless they're already making them in private forums.
I'd be willing to bet a nickel that this "lady" has been referring to Obama as a "radical Islamist" in private discussions being held within the Santorum campaign, and that Santorum himself is using that term quite openly with his inner circle of operatives, surrogates and advisers.

(15,071 posts)them to say it, to get it out there and then sneak back and say they "misspoke". People like Mitchell enable them by not challenging their crazy statements.
