Bush was basically a puppet, and was dangerous becuase of the people who really pulled the strings, like Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.
Santorum is a fucking nutjob all by himself. If his administration carried out HALF of his "edicts," we would really, really be screwed and a half.
MSNBC just had a nice discussion on Martin Bashir's show regarding his "electability." Said what we already know, which is that his history and overall message is TOO crazy to play outside of the "base," that his increasing popularity may lead to a brokered convention, etc.
The clown car just keeps rollin' down the highway.

(8,492 posts)I said damn near the EXACT same thing to the husband this weekend! Bush's doofishness was a danger only because of Pres. Cheney and VP Rumsfeld. I see the same danger with Romney. However, any of the others would be disastrous on their own.

This is just too whack and too scary.

(30,885 posts)...I'd like to hear from women who would actually vote for Santorum. Knowing what they know about him and his attitude toward women, WHY would they vote for him?
I'm confident that anti-gay marriage advocate Maggie Gallagher has got to be one of them:
...but is she really representative of Santorum's "base?" Are we looking at Santorum's typical female voter here?

(62,683 posts)so I've been unable to hear ANYTHING (no TV, no radio, no music!) so I've also been unable to watch these clips. But I can just imagine.
I don't know how/why people have become so rabidly anti-gay, anti-choice, anti-womens' rights. Again, it's scary as shit.
I just started reading Game Change (been reading a lot these past 10 days ) and it was mentioning how Huckabee won Iowa, but they (Bush) knew his base wasn't wide enough to actually either get the nomination or win the election. I was hoping that was the same deal with Santorum. But I don't remember so many people being so vocal and enthusiastic, do you? Or others in the Party kind of getting on board (or at least not confronting him).
It's just, as I keep saying, surreal. I don't even want these people in my country. I'm all for differing opinions and acceptance, but these stances are hate-filled, and I really have no tolerance for that.
What a time, huh, Amerigo Vespucci?
PS -- I did enjoy the mention in Game Change of Romney being humiliated in Iowa -- spending all that money but losing to an Evangelical.
