U.S.A. Today - "Snowden's Benedict Arnold Path"

As Edward Snowden inches towardasylum in Russia, one fact is becoming clear: He is a modern dayBenedict Arnold. Born and raised in America, both men held positions meant to bolster U.S. national security. However, disillusioned with the political system, they came to seeAmerica's adversaries as their salvation. Seeking out positions of trust, they collected sensitive intelligence, which they then divulged. Bothfled to hostile nations as the U.S. government hunted them. Whatever justifications we concoct to explain their actions, Snowden and Arnold betrayed their country."

No, it wasn't Snowden who betrayed us. It was a U.S. press with it's nose stuck so far up the ass of Washington that they STOPPED DOING THEIR JOB!!!

None, NONE, of the major US media outlets are going to jeopardize their cozy relationship with the DC elites. Not to mention the possibility of getting charged under the espionage act.

6. The Guardian is, for me, on my short list of news sources.

You obviously have to have to domestic source, as well, but for most stories, I prefer their impartial coverage.

+1 to your post. Our domestic news establishment is constituted with almost nothing but sycophants and courtiers.

10. Sadly, the Guardian and Al Jazeera seem to have better coverage than US media.

That's probably why so many of the elite in DC and the media are afraid of Al Jazeera coming to the US and are panning it so hard before it even gets on air.

12. Of course that's why the media is condemning Al Jazeera (also on my shortlist). Wow.

It's remarkable to me how sometimes I talk with people on this board, and we all seem to get how the US media really operates; and then, when we talk with - for example - colleagues, family members, friends, it seems like they have all drunk the koolaid. LOL

3. Benedict Arnold was a top officer who sold plans to a country we were at war with for money.

Snowden was a low-level security analyst who exposed government wrongdoing and got nothing in return.

What Snowden did was much less significant than when Orrin Hatch blurted out that we were monitoring Bin Laden's phone calls.

If Snowden is a traitor, Hatch should be arrested too.

Right on all counts.

The MSM is just slandering Snowden to make it easier for the government. I don't believe it's an organized conspiracy to do so but rather, just an institutional habit now.

country? I don't know that he did but I question your assertion that he didn't. It's very possible since a lot of organizations would like to know the inner workings of the NSA.

Sure, why not!

Why did it take Snowden to tell us what's going on instead of USA Today, a supposed newspaper? Oh that's right, USA Today is an arm of the government.

Go bankrupt soon, prehistoric print media.
