But, at the moment, they're adorable little fluffy guys that need squishing.

500 pounds, that capacity to kill instantly can come out. They are better handled by professionals.

One day here and I got real attached to him. Now I might have to cut his head off to submit for rabies testing. So kitten pics just make me cry right about now.

On one level it's just cutting flesh, which is like surgery, which I love. But it's also gruesome.

But I have to do it. He bit the lady who rescued him, and he bit me. Both minor bites, but they did break the skin. He was a presumably unvaccinated feral/stray, and NOT testing is too risky. So we do it.

Three are lions and one is a tiger (the maternal grandmother, apparently).

It's amazing how flexible nature is. We have incompatible screwdrivers and screws, and here you can mix lion and tiger DNA and it still works.
