http://mwwuamerica.blogspot.com/2012/10/breadlines-and-foodstamps-infographic.htmlThe truth is, that even for many people who are lucky enough to find a job at all today, they still cannot afford to buy food for their families. By some accounts, as many as 80% of Wal-Mart employees themselves are on foodstamps.

shop at the place that impoverishes them.

http://mwwuamerica.blogspot.com/p/about.html
About
The Minimum Wage Workers' Union is a grassroots organization seeking a "living wage" for those who are employed in the United States of America. Our goal is a steep increase in the wages afforded to workers at or near minimum-wage levels in order to support a person's basic needs, without need for public assistance or debt crisis, when working full-time. It is our position that current minimum-wage standards are insufficient, perpetuate poverty, and that a higher minimum wage would stimulate the economy while reducing taxpayer burden for government subsidized social services.
We adhere to the old saying...
"An honest day's work, for an honest day's pay."

(5,105 posts)9. Who cares?
Probably the people who used to be able to feed their families by their own labor, some or many of whom had their jobs shipped overseas to be done by workers making a dollar a day or less.
Who cares? REAL patriots who support their country and their fellow citizens.
I'd guess you're neither, based on your post.

(10,103 posts)6. If America actually paid its workers a living wage, we'd all be better off.
At some point, we have to look at all the money going to the top, and demand an accounting. In a very real sense, that money is coming from the pockets of the worker.
