Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday called the latest terror threat scary, and said that an emboldened al Qaeda has been on steroids since the last year's deadly strike on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya..
I had a briefing with the vice president and it is scary, Graham said on CNN's "State of the Union." Al Qaeda is on the rise in this part of the world.
They attacked our consulate, they killed an ambassador, a year has passed, and nobody has paid a price, he added. After Benghazi, these al Qaeda types are really on steroids thinking were weaker and theyre stronger.

(30,058 posts)Whining about methods in which the US is trying to get the jump on their plans. We are going to have to pay attention to our surroundings, notice things like back packs being placed in our area and the person dropping them leaves. We have had warnings for several years in airports and we need this awareness in our own everyday life.
It is counter productive for Graham to take the stab in which he has chosen, his talk about Benghazi is not going to return our Americans no more than "Mission Accomplished" ended the war on terror.

(53,475 posts)a. Al-Qaeda members in Yemen.
b. Al-Qaeda members in Afghanistan.
c. Al-Qaeda members in Pakistan.
d. Al-Qaeda members in all three countries.
Correct answer: a, b, c, and d. According to CIA Director Leon Panetta, there are 50 to 100 al-Qaeda operatives in Afghanistan, possibly less. Best estimates suggest that there are perhaps several hundred al-Qaeda members in poverty-stricken, desertifying, strife-torn Yemen.
There are also an estimated several hundred members and leaders of the original al-Qaeda in the Pakistani borderlands. The high-end total for al-Qaeda members in the three countries, then, would be 800, though the actual figure could be significantly smaller.
According to Ginger Thompson and Thom Shanker of the New York Times, the U.S. military has 963 generals and admirals, approximately 100 more than on September 11, 2001.

(1,540 posts)The build-up of Me Terror cells are the result of the Bush/Cheney leadership in taking over Iraq and Afghanistan, grabbing innocents from homes and streets and then torturing them, sending them to Quantanimo, rendering them to various countries known for their barbaric prisons. Then to top it off private contracting the civilian "Blackwater," thugs who openly murdered innocent civilians which included little children.
Lindsey Graham along with his cohorts sat on their fat ass and allowed this to happen and now he blames it on Bengazi???? Innocents killed all for greed and power, let loose surviving families and friends who want some form of justice for their loss and gave actual crazies reason to do harm.
