Here’s what Amazon lobbies for in D.C.

By now, everyone’s heard that Jeff Bezos has bought The Washington Post. This is the same Jeff Bezos, of course, who also founded and runs Amazon, a sprawling company that has plenty of policy interests in D.C., as well as a multi-million-dollar lobbying operation.



- Reduction of taxes on corporations
- Maintain their near monopoly on ebooks
- Overturn regulations on corporations
- Obtain massive data collection contracts with the CIA and NSA
- Deny states income
- Prevent unionization of it's workers

And now now they control a hugely influential newspaper.

So I'm not sure why the claim that Amazon wants to "deny states income" is in the OP.

4. They want a national tax, instead of state taxes, so that Congress can do their bidding...

...and reduce the amount going to individual states.

They changed their lobbying tactic, because they were losing the other way.
