every time there is a GOP debate, which btw gets two hours of free airtime for the Republicans and an additional hour of analysis,
the Democrats should be given THREE hours (or at least two hours) of free airtime for rebuttal.
Not everyone is a political junkie and with all the GOPers constantly being in the news and on TV, I betcha if a reporter were to go out on a street corner and ask passersbyers who's running for president that at least half of them wouldn't even know that Obama is in the running!
Just my opinion.
p.s. Hell, a couple weeks ago there was an article regarding a huge percentage of folks in South Carolina do not even know who Biden is.
Here it is, I found it:
Report: Almost 1/3rd Of South Carolinians Have No Idea Who Vice President Joe Biden Is

(62,683 posts)they hear this" -- we think everyone is as tuned in as we are when, as you note, most people are totally unaware and uninterested. We have our own little universe.
ETA: Until I became interested (only after Bush "won" reelection) I never paid attention, never watched the debates, just waited for the Dems who were "into politics" to present a candidate and that's who would get my vote. Easy peasy. Life WAS simpler then.

Meanwhile Obama goes quietly about the peoples business with intelligence and dignity.

(36,974 posts)I'm sure the GOP wasn't very happy in 2008 when Obama and Hillary were eating up all the airtime during the primaries,
but they did get their share when McCain forced PALIN onto us and the media couldn't get enough of her and then the TeaParty came along too.
Speaking of Palin, I remember late one night in 2008 when CNN covered Palin's plane landing in Alaska when she went home for a few days during the campaign - it was bizarre that they had their cameras focused on the runway waiting for her to arrive as if she were a president or something - hell the media doesn't even do that for a president unless he has passed away (think in of JFK here).
