http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/02/as-contraception-fight-takes-center-stage-women-voters-turning-from-romney.php?ref=fpaThe political returns from attacking access to contraception are in. Women dont seem to like it.
While Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney hasnt led the charge against the Obama Administrations proposed new federal rules that require an insurance carrier to provide birth control free of charge to women, he certainly echoed the theme that the new rules are an assault on religious liberty, while steering clear of making it a central issue on the campaign.
Unfortunately for him, it seems hes still suffered a precipitous drop in support among women voters.
Quinnipiac University released new numbers on Wednesday that showed a troubling trend for the former governor. In three months, hed gone from a positive split on favorability with women (33 - 30) to a substantially negative one (30 - 45) in Quinnipiacs numbers.

(20,809 posts)being so blatantly open lately with their disrespect, hatred and war against women. Particularly with the contraception bullshit, when birth control has been an established right for almost forty years now, so that younger women, those under fifty, now take it for granted. The GOP's actions lately have shaken up the complacency of a lot of women, particularly those under fifty, and they're realizing that the basic rights they now take for granted had to be fought for and were hard-won, are back under threat, and they will not take kindly to those responsible for the threats and for the blatant disrespect and misogyny coming out of the woodwork. I still find the GOP's complete arrogant cluelessness, hubris and blatantcy to be just breathtaking. I know I probably shouldn't, but I do.

(20,809 posts)and wait for 2016. He knows it's too soon for him and for another Bush, but by 2016, things will be different and he'll have a much better chance. Unlike his dimwit brother, he does at least have some brains. He may have the hubris of Zeus along with a Machievellian world view and actions, but he does have some intelligence. That's what makes him even more dangerous than George.
