Eric Cantor received $$ from ALEC and failed to disclose it

It seems that in 2009 little Eric was awarded the "Thomas Jefferson Freedom Award" and a cash grant of $1350 and failed to disclose in his annual disclosure statement he is required to file with the House clerk.

"Because House members are barred from accepting cash in any amount from outside groups and can receive gifts worth no more than a $100 annually from a single source, we've written Mr. Cantor to seek an explanation of his apparent acceptance of the ALEC award," Edgar said. "We've also referred the appropriate documents to the Office of Congressional Ethics.""

An oversight. No big thing. Jeez, it was only a measly $1,350! Hardly even worth the effort to cash the check. I mean, it's not like when President Obama went all the way to Hawaii for his vacation - what, vacationing in the United States isn't good enough for that kenyanmuslimsocialist?

Cantor will just file an "oopsie" amended report, and all will be well. Any Democrats, however, who took even $101 will face severe scrutiny, weeks of popular media tut-tutting, and quite possibly forced to resign.

This isn't much compared to some of the other ethics charges, most of which are glossed over with, AT WORST, an "official censure".
