Or whatever you would call it. We will have computer chips smaller than our blood cells floating throughout our bodies. We will live in a virtual world, and we will welcome this, much as we welcome cell phones at the dinner table. Neil Postman's book and essay were spot on - Huxley was eerily correct: we will amuse ourselves to death.

(67,030 posts)involved as to the path we're headed down and the implications thereof ... My hunch is it will be done for military reasons and then will be marketed into the general populace. I used to wonder who would go willingly, but given the acceptance of just about any appliance anymore as a 'must have,' there will be many lined up for hybrid transformation.
