Should go viral: Historic fountain vandalized. Racist news readers blame Obama.

Web reader comments on news stories often can make you lose faith in humanity. But I think the jackasses who commented here deserve a dose of public shaming.


Here is the story:

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a historic fountain in a Saratoga Springs park has been vandalized by people apparently taking out coins that had been tossed in by visitors.

City officials tell The Saratogian that the three-level cast-iron fountain in Congress Park was toppled early Thursday morning. They say surveillance video shows two men and two women going into the park with a flashlight and afterward running up a street near the park.

As people grow more self-centered and insensitive to what represents the historic, the civic good and basic community coherence, in this country, every shrine, monument and historic site is a target of unscrupulous thieves and villians and illegals wanting to grab what they can. Eventually bars on every house door and window will come and we will look like Mexico. This is really what comes of the liberal version of diversity. It's unprincipled diversity.
