the woman athletic director coach in the university i just sent my son to. and tell her this is the ONLY thing that i think schools fail at. being woman, and the athletes respecting her so, i would like for her to have a meeting expressing how cover up of rape will NOT be tolerated and the victim will not be victimized a second time. the rapist will have repercussions to a criminal behavior.

I don't really believe there is much confusion. I think there are just a lot of guys claiming ignorance so they can do whatever the hell they want without having to think of the person in front of them as a person.

behavior is giving them a very clear message to speak up.

like all the kids that watched stuber...rape, and said nothing. this clearly says.... do not keep mouth shut, tis a crime. with rape as entertainment today, in all forms from comedic jokes to hot series and every man movie, our kids are getting lackadaisical on the act.

or some guy joking about getting date drunk or the many variants?

oh, right, in this culture you have NEVER heard this, just the few psychos talk like that and only to themselves.

it is so comforting to tell ourselves that it is just the few, when we see stuberville and groups of kids ignoring an unconscious girl being dragged from party to party assaulted or worse filming it and sending it out on social network, then later blaming, terrorizing and threatening her. you know, part of the problem. a town protecting rapists. validating that "good boys" do not rape. why ruin their future. just a sl*t, after all.

really, much easier pretending there is not an issue and turning away.

hence... you prove the very point for the need of education for our boys and men.

after a public service campaign to explain what rape is:

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/12/01/edmonton-sexual-assault-awareness-campaign-dont-be-that-guy_n_2224228.html

While obviously it's not eliminating rape, it's at least a step in the right direction.

Kidding of course, but I am making a point as well.

The rape problem is not caused by ignorance. Adult men and teens who have sex with comatose partners already knew this was illegal. And if they don't understand this by now a chart like this one isn't gonna help them.

Some men (and women) are rapists. They know they are rapists. I don't know why they are the way they are, but you are not going to educate them out of it, and trying to shame and blame all men as if they were also rapists or imbeciles is not really a solution.

I am not really sure what the solution is. Those offering advice to potential targets (to help them avoid becoming victims) have inevitably been flamed and accused of blaming the victim. Along the same lines, efforts to teach boys some code of chivalry -- that they have an obligation as men to defend women and treat them with courtesy and respect -- are often met with scorn from the feminist community.

Which leads us to where we are today: Infographics.

19. Ted Bundy said it was about feeling powerful.
Mon Aug 19, 2013, 04:55 PM

He started out as a rapist. He killed to eliminate the witness. Then he discovered the killing made him feel even more powerful. And that's how rapists evolve into serial killers.

People seem a lot clearer on the subject of murder. They never ask, "What was she wearing? Did she ASK for it?" Maybe if they looked at rape as being on the developmental path to murder, . . . Nah, some people just aren't gonna get it.

Many sociopaths are masterful liars and manipulators, but Bundy took it to an almost preternatural level. he coupled charm, intelligence, and pure evil in a way that has perhaps never been seen since. When it comes to Bundy, the only thing you can reliably say is that nothing he said should be considered credible at all. And yet, remarkably, people believed him -- to some extent because he was gifted at mimicking sincerity and telling people the "truths" that they wanted to hear.

To give you an idea just how extraordinary his ability to bullshit and manipulate was, consider the following quote. This was what the JUDGE in hiw murder trial said to him as he sentenced him to death:

"It is ordered that you be put to death by a current of electricity, that current be passed through your body until you are dead. Take care of yourself, young man. I say that to you sincerely; take care of yourself, please. It is an utter tragedy for this court to see such a total waste of humanity as I've experienced in this courtroom. You're a bright young man. You'd have made a good lawyer, and I would have loved to have you practice in front of me, but you went another way, partner. Take care of yourself. I don't feel any animosity toward you. I want you to know that. Once again, take care of yourself."

Note as well how thoroughly Bundy managed to bullshit James Dobson just hours before his death. This was the infamous "Porn did it" interview.

Ted Bundy killed people because he was evil. He enjoyed it. It's not a leap to say that it made him feel powerful, but even this might be an error. I say this as someone who, in the past, has known and worked with a good number of serial killers and extremely violent sociopaths. It is a huge mistake to believe that you understand them or get where they are coming from, the ONLY correct way to deal with people like this is to treat them like you would a dangerous and hungry animal. The Tiger in the zoo might look relaxed, it might even let it's handler pet it and pretend to enjoy it, but if you make the mistake of forgetting it's a Tiger it will kill you.

In any case, to respond directly to your point, many serial killers start out as serial killers, while relatively few rapists evolve into serial killers. Because of this, I think it's a mistake to draw too many conclusions from this.

There was an idiot who noticed a safety-board at the local swimming pool listing do's and don't of safe swimming. He, being both an excellent swimmer and a petulant individual, took offense in a wonderful fit of pique, and began yelling that he didn't need to know these rules, that he was an excellent swimmer, and he wished people would stop haranguing him about the rules.

He never realized that some swimmers do indeed, need to be reminded of the rules now and again.

is a sign if sociopathic creep in society (or more sociopathic creeps in society).

Or if you have to explain what is or what is not forced sex, or having to defend and explain other basic human rights like privacy, freedom of speech, press-- or what a real free society actually is.

And if your explanation reaches deaf ears, and your repeated alternative and progressively dumbed down explanations don't help, this is a sign of a truly sick person, group or system.

It is a litmus test actually.
