I see a correllation between distractive royal propaganda

and exposures about violations of civil rights in Britain and the US.

Note Lady Di is back in the news and today there are new pictures of the royal baby on the front page of every newspaper in England.

It's real easy to remove those violations of journalists' rights from the front page with some royal shit chat.

Her driver was drunk, they were chased by a gang of rabid paparazzi and the driver caused the accident by trying to escape them.

On the front page of today's Australian edition of The Guardian, top spot goes to 9 articles about David Miranda, and the new royal bub is right down the bottom of the first page with one article.

Express: baby photo, Diana headline (well, that was inevitable)
Mail: baby photo (that's the entire front page)
Mirror: baby photo, headline on sacking of soap star for rap about rape
Star: same as Mirror
Sun: same as Mirror

though no-one went with a photo for the Miranda case, because it's not that photogenic (the Guardian itself went with the photo of the Green MP Caroline Lucas getting arrested at an anti-fracking demo).

It has to be said, the other papers are not doing much on Miranda; the BBC is, and so are Channel 4 news and ITV news. Sky News has it on the first web page, but not prominently; I don't know how much it did on it yesterday.

There's been an article or two about Miranda in the international news section, though there was the photo of the royal baby. I think any attempts to drive the whole Miranda thing into the background is doomed to failure, as let's face it, the Cocker Spaniel was cuter looking than the rather ordinary looking baby though I'm sure his parents think he's gorgeous coz every parent thinks their baby's the cutest creation that ever hit the face of the earth.
