I have a question about the information that Snowden/Greenwald...

have in their possession.

Is it the same info that the NSA has on us?

Do they have info on us, the same info that the gov had/has?

I know there's a shit load more important stuff, but I'm wondering do they have that other stuff too?

Nobody knows for sure. I don't think Snowden knows what he has. bemildred Aug 2013 #2
"he pantsed them". That's a great way to phrase it. KittyWampus Aug 2013 #3

From what I read (anonymous insider hearsay) he was running a web spider on their internal nets grabbing web URLs, and he has trusted access. But the point is he has whatever the hell he wanted to have, and he has spread copies around sufficient to guarantee they can't get them all back.

Hence the panic. He pantsed them in public and so far they have been unable to stop or punish him as desired. Since they rely greatly on fear to get their way, malcontents getting away with things upsets them a lot. Like furious, ego defenses are well-engaged.

This suggests a lack of professional security standards, internally. They are firing 90% of their Snowden's to "fix" this, which leaves one to wonder what they were all doing while Snowden was collecting data?

Alexander's answer seems to be more automation, which I find very funny, and the cloud, which is even funnier.

Oh yeah, and we pay these guys well into six figures, the "analysts" who are snooping on us.

Even you pro-surveilance guys have to know this ought to be career-ending for whomever was making the decisions. It takes all you have done and renders it moot in an instant. Poorly kept secrets are much worse than no secrets.
