They were talking him up as if he was the next 'come out of nowhere' President.

Sheesh!

I mean, I think the guy is a slimy POS and a coward to boot, but isn't he term limited? He can't succeed himself and as far as I know hasn't committed to a senate campaign in 2014.

On second thought maybe that is the point. Any senate run he was contemplating is probably dead in the water right now.

I'm all for indictments, resignation and/or impeachment, a media-glaring trial and for Ken Cuccinelli to get fully swept up in McDonnell's mess.

We get the Dem sleazebag rather than the GOPer one. It's an improvement but not by much.

Terry wasn't my first choice, but as someone who lives in VA and would suffer the consequences of a Cuccinelli governorship, I say McAulliffe is an improvement by a LOT!

just after the Clinton years... Poor guy, he always gave off the vibe of a used car salesman...

I hope he is a bit better than that...

What kind of crazy question is that?

He won't be raking in millions as a lobbyist. He'll be poison to those used to buying influence. And a conviction would send a message to other like-minded creeps.

...from the outset, but then Gov. Vaginal Probe was a target of hers for a long time. While the corporate media is fascinated with Anthony's weiner and Filer's fondling and others are chasing the Snowden bright shiny toy, the real story is how this con man and his equally sleazy wife are about to be indicted and could cost Cuchinelli the election

Most interesting is that Virgnia ReTHUGs are not criticizing him - that said more and more folks are calling for his resignation

<snip>
The pace of the investigation

The now fast-paced timeline of the investigation is driven in part by two factors.

First, prosecutors generally wish to move as quickly as possible if they think there is evidence of criminal actions by a sitting, still powerful elected official.

Second, Justice Department guidelines discourage prosecutors from taking action during an election season to avoid the perception that they are trying to influence the outcome.

According to those rules, prosecutors would find it more difficult to proceed against McDonnell after Labor Day, given that Virginians will go to the polls Nov. 5 to choose his successor.

...Blago tried to shake down people and all he got was a jail term. Blago & McDonnell both share a common ego...thinking they're "smarter" than the rest of us and can get away with this shit. I hope they indict while he's still in office...get it in the headlines so the rushpublicans have to try to defend him (and we know there'll be some who will)...
