Tom Coburn: Obama both "a personal friend of mine" and "perilously close to impeachment"

Remember, this is the liberal Senator from Oklahoma.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/republican-senator-obama-getting-perilously-close-to-the-sta

“What you have to do is you have to establish the criteria that would qualify for proceedings against the president, and that’s called impeachment,” Coburn said, responding to a question about holding President Obama accountable. “That’s not something you take lightly, and you have to use a historical precedent of what that means. I think there’s some intended violation of the law in this administration, but I also think there’s a ton of incompetence, of people who are making decisions.”

“Even if there is incompetence, the IRS forces me to abide by the law,” a constituent responded to Coburn.

“No, I agree,” Coburn said. “My little wiggle out of that when I get that written to me is I believe that needs to be evaluated and determined, but thank goodness it doesn’t have to happen in the Senate until they’ve brought charges in the House. Those are serious things, but we’re in a serious time. I don’t have the legal background to know if that rises to high crimes and misdemeanor, but I think they’re getting perilously close.”

As someone once said, if you want a real friend in DC, buy a dog.

Any talk of impeaching Obama is simply hot air which unfortunately will only contribute to global warming.

and frequently entertainingly stupid. His voting record is as hard line Republican as it could possibly be.
Not sure about buying a dog, but I do know that playing the Odd Couple with some racist bigot Republican is no way to make a real friend anywhere.
Calling him a liberal is seriously off base. Way off base. Off planet.

Republicans. In no way is Coburn less conservative than Imhofe. In no way, even relatively, is he 'the liberal Senator'.
Sorry. He's an extreme bigot and Obama's handholding with him backfiring is Obama's own damn fault. He was warned.

I guess I've heard Coburn say sane things (like not shutting down the government). I've never--not once--heard Inhofe say anything even remotely sane.

Will the President learn from this? That abandoning his Liberal base in order to cozy up to Republicans was never a good idea?

Never trust a Republican or the Third Way.

And NEVER take your Progressive base for granted.

If George Walker Bush could make it through two of the most controversial terms in modern history without getting impeached...why on EARTH would any sane person think Obama is near impeachment level?

Did he illegally invade a country based on lies and greed? No.

Did he relax security around the nation so it would be easier for 9/11 to occur? No.

Did he use his daddy's friends on the SCOTUS to get 'elected'? No.

Did he let OBL escape and remain at large? No.

Calling for impeachment is pathetic at best...

EDIT - WHY do you call him a liberal senator? That is false adverting and you know it!

He is a REPUBLICAN...calling him a liberal senator is just more liberal bashing, even if it was unintentional.

Jim Inhofe is so far to the right, he makes Tom Coburn look like Abbie Hoffman. Considering how far to the right Coburn is, that takes some doing.

there's that pesky insult of a simple majority denying him any future public office.

Whatever the clown car wants, though, let them go for it-- can't be much worse than the time wasted in 40 votes to repeal Obamacare.

In the best case, some of the bigger idjits might even find themselves jobless.
