(5,504 posts)come up with anything else, my apologies. I am curious though (not being coy). Why would my post be considered "troll feeding ?"
I simply thought that it was a timely, terrible story. I feel just awful for that old man.

Visit there and read the racist hate-filled rants.
Is that what you'd expect to see here?
This was an awful, senseless crime. I hope they catch the perps and put them away forever the same as I would if the races of the parties involved were reversed.

(11,489 posts)Right-wingers, predominantly white males, believe they are an oppressed minority. As such, they feel like victims, they are searching for evidence of their oppression.
A case where a black kills a white is always a cause celebre for conservatives. Because if it is not instantly labelled as a hate crime, it's 'proof' that the white majority is being persecuted by the black minority. And so they flock to the post, in their righteous indignation, about the unjustness of how black killers of white people are treated differently than white killers of black people.
The fact of the matter is, when DA's have evidence of a hate crime, eg, actual proof that race was a motivating factor, minorities are charged with hate crimes when the evidence supports it, just the same as when the crime is committed by a white.
Assuming you read the replies at freerepublic, what did you think of them?

(11,489 posts)You see, right-wingers would be all upset because left-wingers pitched a fit about Trayvon Martin. The difference in the cases was that Trayvon was an unarmed teen walking home from a 7-11 who was killed by a white guy with a gun. The white guy in that case was not arrested, or charged, for MONTHS afterwards, and probably never would have been if not for the outcry.
The suspects in this case are already being arrested, charged, and jailed, as they should have been.
That's why DU isn't particularly interested in this case. To DU, it's just another senseless murder, like thousands of others.

(13,776 posts)It made me absolutely heartsick... because of the manner of his death and because there are people who walk among us who are so absolutely amoral that they could do this.
Violence is always horrendous but there is something extra evil about attacking the vulnerable specifically because, and for no other reason than that, they are vulnerable.
