(13,360 posts)it's just the plume that is driving me nuts. Had to shut up the house, keep the kids inside, and watch the pets too.
I realized today that I am coughing more this evening...
Last year, we didn't have to deal with this ...so I guess we're making up for it this year. Boooo

(28,858 posts)No fire then, thank heaven.
Sunday I was driving from San Francisco to Sacramento
and didn't notice any fires. When I got to my aunt's
house she said she had been really worried about me
because there was a fire near a town I drove by. if
there was, I didn't see it or even smell smoke.
I saw signs Yosemite signs on the drive to and from
San Simeon where we stayed for a couple of days also
last week, but again no signs of fire.
I'm just glad I went last week and made it out of there
just in time.

A DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PDT THIS EVENING.
* VISIBILITY: 1/4 MILE OR LESS.
* IMPACTS: UNHEALTHY AIR QUALITY AND HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY SOUTH OF MINDEN AND GARDNERVILLE TO NEAR COLEVILLE, EAST TO NEAR YERINGTON, SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 50 IN EL DORADO COUNTY, AND THROUGHOUT ALPINE COUNTY
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SMOKE FROM WILDFIRES SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES VISIBILITIES...MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE AND BREATHE. THE SMOKE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A PROBLEM UNTIL THE FIRE ACTIVITY SUBSIDES...OR THERE IS A MORE FAVORABLE WEATHER PATTERN TO DISPERSE THE SMOKE. PERSONS IN THE ADVISORY AREA SHOULD AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THE SMOKE AND STAY INDOORS.
