Tea Party ';Sentate' Republican Candidate Launches Campaign With Misspelled Banner

A Tennessee Tea Party Republican launched his campaign for U.S. Senate this week, and did so in a most hilarious way.

Joe Carr, currently a Tennessee State Rep, will challenge current Republican Senator Lamar Alexander in next year’s Republican primary. Carr called Alexander “the most liberal member of the delegation from Tennessee.”

Carr launched a campaign banner with a picture of himself and the usual jargon that one finds on your garden variety campaign banner, with the exception of one thing: A misspelled word!

requiring elected officials to pass standardized tests that they expect students to pass. He wants to start with the test 3rd graders take.

I think the 3rd grade test would be too difficult for many of them.

5. Education

Competition breeds success, and parental choice leads to involvement, therefore allowing the individual states to manage their education systems rather than the federal government is the best way to help our children become more competitive. I have absolutely no confidence in federal education programs where one-size-fits-all and social engineering is more important than the three R’s. The last thing we want is the federal government running our schools like they run our government.

Expanding private school vouchers, lifting caps on Charter Schools, and expanding Public School choice are the options that Tennessee families need to help their children receive the best education possible and the education issues I will fight for as your Congressman from the 4th District.
