I can't take it anymore. My rant.

I just got into a big fight with a friend of about 30 years. I try not to talk politics with her or anyone else really. Not any more. Things have just gotten to crazy, too mean.

Her current criticism of Obama. He was wearing white pants. She says he's not doing anything but ride his bike and play golf.

I made the mistake of saying he looked exhausted. I think he does look exhausted. His hair is going gray and his face has such deep lines in it.

I feel like running away from home to someplace deep in the desert.

This has all gotten so hateful and awful. I'm afraid to even open my mouth.

Her big criticism of Michelle is that she doesn't have good fashion sense.

What she really doesn't like is that they are black. That's the bottom line.

I think that's the bottom line for a whole lot of people here in Missouri. I just can't talk to those people any more.

There was a thread on here about the KKK. The KKK was a big deal when I was growing up. Them and the John Birch Society. Those groups were considered to be very far outside the mainstream at that time.

Now it seems like half the State of Missouri could be charter members. Now that way of thinking has become mainstream.

This is just so scary to me. When did stupidity take over?

Are men wearing white pants now? I'm so out of the fashion loop. I live in jeans and blue workshirts.

She is practically housebound now - just gets out to the store and library mostly. And her thinking gets pretty weird some days. Normally I just go ahuh, ahuh, ahuh and just blow it all off.

But I am so sick of the Obama bashing that the idiocy of the white pants just set me off.

She just thought she was "discussing" in an intelligent manner. It really shocked her when I just blew up.

I'm over it now. But I am still sick of the Obama bashing. I am so sick of the rudeness and hatefullness. And everybody calling each other stupid or worse, stupid mother fuckers.

That's no way to treat other people even if they don't agree with you at all.

And as for Michelle's taste? OMG--the American fashion industry LOVES her. She wouldn't be on the cover of Vogue
if she weren't stylish: http://www.vogue.com/voguepedia/Michelle_Obama

Follow her style here: http://mrs-o.com/

And tell your friend if she doesn't know what she's talking about--and apparently she doesn't--she should keep her mouth

Grew up between DeSoto and Festus,

We did used to party hard from South County to Potosi, but the State itself is a shithole. Downtown St. Louis is a dump. What, like half the population left since 1950? High ass state income taxes, but every fucking road is shot. Well, except for the new 270, of course you can only go 60 on that thing before you get pulled over.

I hate to say it, but Foxaganda has successfully brainwashed the vast majority of Americans. It doesn't matter what Obama does the conservative nut right is going o find fault with it. If Obama personally found a cure for cancer, the conservative nut right would say he was in bed, with the pharmaceutical companies, and he was going to criminally profit from this relationship!!!

I can't take any more politics. I don't know how anyone can survive this stuff. I don't know how Obama stands it. And he just goes on in his calm, thoughtful way.

have guests for free, but not anymore apparently.

I swear I would run off and join a convent if I didn't have my dogs to think of.

You know what bothers more than the politics and the wars and all the awful stuff is the decimation of the planet. It won't be long and all the wild things may just be gone. They simply can't survive in their natural habitats any more.

I don't think I care very much about people any more. We are like a plague of locusts on the land. But I do really care about the animals and the land.

“When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.”

of President Obama came - up - he just plain hates him - when trying establish why - He honestly didn't know. He just hates him. As a progressive- I have many complaints about this administrations that I could in a detailed explanation tell someone who wanted to listen. I can understand why many people from the left perspective are dissatisfied or disappointed - But most of the hate coming from the right is simply visceral and irrational. They want to hate him for no reason. They simply don't know why they hate him anymore than they know why they hated Clinton. I could give them reasons to complain- but they would be the wrong reasons.

Mon Aug 26, 2013, 10:07 AM

I despise the media, which pits us one against the other. There are not political disagreements in this country, there are ENEMIES. Our discourse has been destroyed by the media and it's antagonistic reporting. Especially the right wing media, but the results of what Fox News and AM Radio have done for years have effected all news media, it's owned by so few companies anyway. Now we just overload on hating each other all the time.

It's miserable.
