'Pastafarian' gets government photo ID taken wearing a pasta strainer

A smile to start your week off:

"Eddie Castillo of Lubbock, Texas, a self-proclaimed Pastafarian who worships the Flying Spaghetti Monster, successfully got his driver's license picture taken while wearing a pasta strainer on his head after a monthlong struggle with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The satirical Pastafarianism religion started in 2005 as an argument against teaching intelligent design in Kansas public schools. Castillo says the pasta strainer photo is a political symbol for the separation of church and state. A New Jersey man attempted the same feat earlier this year and was denied. Reviewing the situation, Texas DPS says it was a mistake and will be contacting Castillo to get a new photo taken."
