Idiot Conservative admits the goal is punishing NC voters for voting early for President Obama

. . . Eagle Forum's Phyllis Schlafly, a prominent leader of the religious right movement for decades, has a new defense. In a WorldNetDaily column, the right-wing activist offered an unexpected explanation of why some of North Carolina's new restrictions are worthwhile.

The reduction in the number of days allowed for early voting is particularly important because early voting plays a major role in Obama's ground game. The Democrats carried most states that allow many days of early voting, and Obama's national field director admitted, shortly before last year's election, that "early voting is giving us a solid lead in the battleground states that will decide this election."

The Obama technocrats have developed an efficient system of identifying prospective Obama voters and then nagging them (some might say harassing them) until they actually vote. It may take several days to accomplish this, so early voting is an essential component of the Democrats' get-out-the-vote campaign.

~snip~

And then there's Phyllis Schlafly, writing a piece for publication effectively saying Democrats are entirely right -- North Carolina had to dramatically cut early voting because it's not good for Republicans.

Remember, Schlafly's piece wasn't intended as criticism; this is her defense of voter suppression in North Carolina. Proponents of voting rights are arguing, "This is a blatantly partisan scheme intended to rig elections," to which Schlafly is effectively responding, "I know, isn't it great?"

It's a sad state to live in these days. I used to be proud of NC. Now, not so much.

Oh well. When all the poor pukes get their food stamps and Medicaid cut, maybe they'll see who put the knife to their throats. Or not.

Don't cry for me, Democracy! I tried to carry your light forward.

It's scary to see how easily a state can be stolen and jerked backwards...

And sad to see how many people are so greedy and corrupt that they support the RethugliCon agenda. No morals, no conscience, no ethics. Just all about moi.

The rest of the country needs to see this as the wave of the future in vulnerable states...

*******
Yes, I was part of that nasty campaign of GOTV for likely Obama voters. In Ohio we had millions of votes
already in the bank before election day because the republicans are VERY GOOD @ screwing with one day
of voting but if you have a month of voting they really can't do anything.

Chinese Americans, Hindi Americans, Sheik Americans, American Indians, that any attempt to suppress voting will be met with more votes. I want the republican party to die off, so I don't relish giving that party advice. The republican party should embrace voting rights for every eligible American like there is no tomorrow. On top of embracing voting right, the republican party should cast out much of it's base. The changes that the republican party could make will cost it the reddest states, but those states account for a minuscule number of electoral votes. The change would make the party competitive again in many electoral vote rich blue states. But, being the party it has become, the republican party will die instead of making wise changes.

She was fine with her own job outside the home, parading all over the country spreading her bile and her idiocy, getting paid for speeches and public appearances, advocating that America's women belonged at home with the kids, and dutifully popping out more every nine months.

SARCASM OFF!

I detested this woman many decades ago when I was a teenager. She has always had a self-righteous and arrogant character. Schlafly is living proof that wisdom and a propensity for respecting everyone's right to vote does not come with age.

It doesn't matter when you vote, it matters that you vote. Extended dates are granted as a convenience to all citizens to avoid the crowds, not to extend privileges to Democrats. GOP can vote early too, but hey lets punish them too. Then there are ballots for voting. Research suggest that GOP voters are more likely to vote by mail in ballots. Perhaps blue states should do away with ballots. Of course not. If the GOP thinks cutting back on hours will discourage Dem. voters, they are nuts.

Looking at the age group who votes Republican, they are getting older and they are going to have a hard time standing in long lines and most of them vote early to avoid the crowds. Obama's large voting group is younger and can stand in longer lines ergo the voting majority will be Democrats. The GOP does not like minority groups, alienate women voters and continues to create a platform which does not attract new voters.

She and Satan must've made a pact to keep her above ground longer 'cause she looks like something that would go around moaning for 'braaaainnnzzzzz.' Too bad. She's in the Republican Party. The pickings are slim to none.
