Today is the day that texts from Commissioners will be released. This had to do with a sick leave vote. This may be one of the first opportunities to see how is running government in Orlando.

'Textgate' probe results come out Wednesday

A: Commissioners already have turned over text messages and telephone records showing they worked with lobbyists opposing the referendum. Three of them — Fred Brummer, Jennifer Thompson and John Martinez — say they deleted or lost countless texts around that day.

Investigators can run forensic audits on those and other phones and interview lobbyists or other officials and advisers to whom they sent texts.

The legal fight isn't over, however, even if the probe yields no criminal or civil violations. A pending civil lawsuit centering on similar open-government claims includes subpoenas for many of the same lobbyists and other officials at the center of "textgate."
