2. This is not a first-world solution.

How about fixing the gang problem. Fix the broken home problem that leads to the gang problem. Fix the jobs problem that leads to broken homes. Fix health care along with mental health and substance abuse problems that lead to broken homes. Fix the fucking problems with solutions. I am so upset about what is going on in my home town.

I grew up going to a Chicago public school. Do you know how the kids made it to school safely? Fifth graders with an orange belt stood on street corners and crossed the other children safely across the street.
