They are not just troops. They are not some vague idea. They are our mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers and friends.
Also: Bombs are not picky about who they kill. When our missles start hitting the ground, innocent civilians WILL die. They WILL be blown into pieces. They will lose limbs, heads will be blown apart, children will be in pieces. There is no smart bomb that will just take out Assad and his officers.

(25,592 posts)Instead of only thinking of responding to violence with more violence, why not do what should have been done in the first place. Humanitarian aid, consisting of food, medical supplies, shelter, etc. These refugees are our doings from the Iraq war crime we perpetuated on an innocent country. We cause so much violence around the world and our response to the results is... Wait for it... MORE VIOLENCE! Each and every time. When is it going to end? I fear it will end when the rest of the world brings our violence back to us, US, country wide, so we can see first hand what is like to live in a country that we have policed.

(48,121 posts)They are not just Syrians. They are mothers, fathers, children, humans. And if we don't do -something- to stop it then why should they stop using chemical weapons?

The Straight Story
(48,121 posts)As I mentioned in another thread 5.4 million have died in Congo since 1998 and the UN has been there in some form since their resolution in 1999.
Shall we wait till about 6 million are dead? Would that be good with you?

(28,581 posts)This is not our fight. It will not end well. More people will die and their blood will be on us. In the end the people of Syria will hate us more then they hate Assad.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
