Woman gives birth in a bar restroom, kills baby, and hides him in toilet tank. Charged with murder.

ALLENTOWN, Pa., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- A prosecutor says he has "no clue" why an Allentown, Pa., woman kept her pregnancy secret and then allegedly killed her newborn in a sports bar bathroom.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said Monday Amanda C. Hein, 26, began experiencing back pain while at Starters Pub in Lower Saucon Township Aug. 18 and went to the bathroom where she gave birth to an "alive and viable" boy of 33-36 weeks gestation. She then allegedly suffocated the baby, put him in a plastic bag and placed the body in the tank of a toilet, Morganelli said.

She allegedly went out and smoked a cigarette and then watched the rest of a pay-per-view wrestling tournament on the bar's TV with her friends.

The body was discovered the next day by cleaners.

She apparently admitted to the police that the baby was born alive and she suffocated it.

She's charged with murder.

Wouldn't there be blood, a placenta, amniotic fluid all over? Wouldn't you be staggering and weak from pain and fluid loss? How does this even happen--let alone leaving the baby to die?

11. I remember thinking that when I had my first baby. Mental illness is a terrible thing, and if

someone is so sick that her brain is telling her to hide the pregnancy and then kill the child, she'll find a way to make it work.

there would have been blood and fluid everywhere. Nobody else came into the bathroom while she was in there and her friends noticed nothing? How very, very odd.

Anyway, I will never understand why they don't just leave the baby at a fire station anonymously, or something.
