(50,447 posts)The RTL stickers could be on the sides, or the front bumper.
I'm surprised there's no "Don't Blame Me, I Didn't Vote for Obuckwheat" (yes, they exist, unfortunately) or "I'll keep my money, guns, religion and freedom, you can keep the change" sticker.

(15,782 posts)my car could label me a "liberal on steroids". My van windows are covered with stickers, terrible liberal messages like "register, then vote"; also have stickers that enumerate the benefits of Obamacare. Obama/Biden stickers are still intact, as are the Bennet and Udall ones. My anti-Ken Buck stickers have been smile-grabbers for a while and will be getting more play. My rolling yard sign offended someone, though; keyed my car along one side, then signed their "artwork" with their initials. Will I remove my stickers? To quote John Boehner, "Hell, no!"

(9,965 posts)It may take a little while, and some heat - hot, sunny day is more than enough, works better than a heat gun or heater anyway - and maybe a soft plastic scraper, or a strong thumbnail.
Lubricating oils, inks, and adhesives are all chemical cousins - including vegetable oils (why peanut butter removes some of this stuff) and animal fat based lubes.
Best stuff I ever used for this, I found by accident - it's a cutting/maching lube called "LPS Natural #1" Nice to use, mild, plesant, unless you get it hot - that's why I know it's animal based, 'cuz it smells like a burnt, hairy goat hot. It'll take off aincent masking tape gum in minutes, with no more than a wipe.

(2,667 posts)And it works wonders on road tar, bug splatter, and pine sap too.
Mopar151
(9,965 posts)Acetone, or lacquer thinner, will barely touch stuff that LPS Natural #1 will remove with a 2 min. soak and a wipe. Acetone evaporates so fast that you need to use a rag soaked with it to wet anything for more than a few seconds. Particularly with adhesives, it is the long chain lubricating type molecules that act as it's solvent, not the high aromatics like acetone. Motor oil will cut road tar damm near as fast as gas, Prep-sol will cut bugs fine, and high-end detailers use it to take old wax off before the concours detail job. Turpentine is made from pine pitch, so a similar, relatively mild solvent is best to get rid of it.
