Finally! Information on the implementation of Obamacare (as I like to call it)

I am a volunteer at a Food Bank in Colorado and next week I will attend a 2 day seminar that our state Dept. of Health Care Policy and Financing is offering free through Community Partner Regional Trainings. It's for individuals and organizations that assist potential clients through the application process. These trainings are to help build a common understanding of key elements of the ACA and Colorado's ACA implementation plan, and to strengthen community organization capacity to help families understand the application process and benefits potentially available to them.

Sessions will cover:
* an ACA overview,
* changes in Medicaid and CHP+ policy,
* Connect for Health Colorado,
* systems interactions, PEAK,
* the new Medicaid/CHP+ application

For weeks now I've heard clients skeptical and/or fearful of changes to their Medicaid or CHP. On the other hand I have clients who are very excited and hopeful that they'll finally have some kind of healthcare insurance.

The ACA has already helped my two youngest to have insurance. And in January, my wife and I can no longer be denied insurance because of our pre-existing conditions.

That's enough to make me a supporter: I hope you come back with more reasons!

and are unaware (until I tell them, of course) that they won't be denied coverage in 2014.

at the Weld Food Bank was, hands down, one of the most edifying experiences of my life. It is nothing short of remarkable to have such a place that serves as a nexus for healthful information for entire communities. Even though I'm no longer able to be there I have retained the friendship of those who work there. I've told many people: if you're sick at heart, volunteer at a food bank for a few days. Those who took the advice were glad they did.

Keep up the good work!

There's always room for more volunteers, just as there is always need for more donations. At this time of year, we especially love gardeners who have an abundance of veggies and fruits (hint, hint).

Thank you for feeding others in similar straits.

We are none of independent:we are all interdependent. And volunteers strengthen those ties.

Sadly the State of MN. has chosen to use BCBS as one of the providers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Asshats. I cannot afford to pay more! And I even raised the deductible as is!
