One thing for which we can all HOPE

We can all hope that the President makes the correct decision regarding Syria. His positions have evolved on issues before, so nothing should be assumed. A TERRIBLE line was crossed, but there is extreme diplomatic pressure from inside and out, and the President is a man who thinks things through thoroughly. I would not want that burden on my psyche/soul/whatever. Personally, I pray to the Great Spirit (or whatever force carries beauty and truth) that he does indeed make the correct decision for the sake of every living person on this planet. That being said, I've got President Barack Obama's back!

Unlike some people, I don't worry about a hypothetical WW3 scenario; the Cold War ended 20 years ago and the West as a whole has become so much more economically connected with the rest of the world, China especially(even Russia too, though mainly for the Western Europeans), since then, for one thing.

That does not, however, preclude the possibility of a significant war that could escalate within that area to such a degree that the number of total deaths might perhaps come close to, or exceed, the First World War, in the absolute worse case (plausible) scenarios. And I don't think anybody would want that, as we'd *all* end up suffering for decades to come.

But, luckily for us, that isn't all that likely, and I do trust that Obama will *try* to make the best possible choice. Let's hope he does.

But a damned escalation over there right now would affect virtually everyone on the planet to one degree or another. But do we let that shit continue? I realize you know this, but it must be stated that this is not Iraq. However, our credibility and moral authority are at--how shall I state this?--historically low levels. Will dropping bombs actually save lives this time? I don't know. I don't envy the President at this point.

I pray to God, Buddha, Allah, Great Spirit or whatever for PEACE.

This President is a world citizen. I believe he will do what is right. "I've got President Barack Obama's back!" So do I!
