Everyone's been talking about what the Prez should be doing about Syria, now he's forcing them to go on record with where they stand.

(25,183 posts)Democratic congresscritters will have to ask themselves, "Do I hate unnecessary war more than I want to support President Obama?"
It's going to consume time and political capital that is better spent on dealing with the budget and the debt ceiling debates. We have two trains on the same track that are rushing towards each other, and Congress is being asked to pay attention to a car wreck not near the railway.

We can expect them to battle this out in congress for weeks to come and my guess is that they would rather say "No" to Obama than say "Yes" to anything he wants.
He's played this beautifully as far as our national politics is concerned. As for Syria and chemical weapons, this is a problem that WE CANNOT FIX.
