Does the GOP want to get rid of scientists with the exception of corporate ones?

I posted yesterday about how they were being defunded.

I read somewhere today that education is going to be free and online in the decades to come. That would destroy thousands of public minded scientific careers. And all the public minded research. If the government is gutted and there is no science that meets the public good corporations will not get regulated. Would they do this? Yes!
