Pouting, griping, shaming, or directing ire at anyone who points this out will not change that paradigm.

If the victors truly had their way, they'd want to get their hands on some of the set-aside 'reservation' lands as well--I'm sure those properties are quite exploitable. From the perspective of the victors, I will bet they believe they didn't get their full due.

Is there some "news" on these lines, or is this just one of those "history" posts?

The Red Lake Band of Chippewa have a reservation of over 1,200 square miles that are their ancestral lands, not an area forced upon them by the U.S. government. They are the only tribe who never signed a treaty with the federal government. In effect, it is a foreign country within the state of Minnesota.
