Defection from Syria's chemical warfare branch?

Syrian online activist The 47th says the Sky News report is correct and a press conference on the defection is planned for 5pm local time (3pm BST) in Istanbul. He says Abdel Tawwab Shahrou is "head of medical services in Assad's chemical warfare branch" and also "head of Aleppo forensics".

This may be true or may just be a rumor. The press conference is scheduled for 10AM Eastern time. We'll see it actually happens.

Since liberals like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are already convinced that Assad's forces are guilty, I'm not sure what this guy, if he is genuine, can provide.
