Crystal Clear - A new Anti-Meth Initiative from the creators of We Will Not Be Silenced
In 2004 DU sent our first awareness raising video, We Will Not Be Silenced, viral. To see our art inspire so many people was truly a humbling experience. There is an enemy within, the meth demon. As Nietzsche said "How good bad music and bad reasons sound when we march against an enemy"
As the EDM market explodes, we are noticing a disturbing trend in the rise of meth usage. The main stream media focuses E, however, the real problem is Meth..We have decided to try and once again use our talents to wake people up the dangers of this evil drug. As members of the techno community, we as djs and producers, have a responsibility to the clubbers, the people who pay our wages. Its too easy to take the money and run, we cannot in all conscience sit back and be silent.
When events like the senseless deaths of two people at Electric Zoo on Saturday become more and more regular, as we have witnessed before, the backlash against E will come, not from the DJS who knowingly turn a blind eye, not prom the promoters but from society. When the inevitable happens, the Meth demon is waiting in the shadows.
We simply cannot sit back and let this happen, just as we couldn't`t remain silent about the Iraq war.
