I can hear arms cracking all the way out here...

The big sell is being put on our Congress once again. What is being said in "classified" sessions is much different than what we hear out here in the hinterlands.

Finally, after years, they are moving as if it is an emergency. They will tell Congress all they need to know and demand that they make a decision immediately.

Here we go again.

1. I thought we were going to rush to war and attack LAST week.

I mean, that was the common wisdom on DU all last week.

An attack was imminent.

The President was so hungry for war that he wasn't going to wait for the UN report. He wasn't going to consult with Congress. It was definitely going to happen ... rush, rush, rush.

It was definitely going to be Thursday. Then Friday ... then hidden during the long weekend, probably Saturday.

So now ... going to Congress, letting them debate it ... that is rushing it.

do it. No waiting for ANYTHING.

It was going to happen, for sure, Thursday. When that did not happen ... Friday!!

Saturday!!! Definitely!!!!

Now, you're saying that Congress is being rushed to make a decision ... a decision that DU's common wisdom said would never happen in the first place.

The speculative outrage around here never stops.

12. That was the plan...until support evaporated / didn't materialize overseas:

no United Nations, no NATO, no Coalition of the Willing, no Arab League, not even any Lap Dogs (Thank you, Parliament!).

Then it was just President Obama, on his own...so he had an attack of Constitutionality (NOT, since he hasn't said he will be bound by it) and decided to Consult Congress...who, to be fair, are ducking under every available desk and won't be back until next week. Maybe All of This will be over by then.

The apologists around here never stop.

authorization. No 35 years for the Obama trial balloon leaker though. You only get 35 years when you leak evidence of war crimes.

7. Or if you leak tons and tons of classified information

without vetting it first.

And DU exploded in speculative outrage because an "anonymous White House official" said something ... SHOCKED ... SHOCKED I TELL YOU.

about war crimes that have been committed, 35 years.

Makes sense to me in imperial-rot America.

10. You don't know who leaked the "Thursday" date, if anyone.
Tue Sep 3, 2013, 04:06 PM

Do you? Can you name the official who leaked the "planned war crimes"??

And Manning didn't get 35 years for leaking just the video, it was all the other information that she sent along with it.

Again ... an unnamed source said something, and much of DU went into full hair on fire mode. And then the predicted event didn't happen.

Shocking.

usually never find out who they are. The reports of a Thursday strike were attributed by media like the NYTimes and NBC to an "unnamed senior Obama adminsitration official."

Hope you enjoy the company of the other 10% of Americans who support this shit.

5. PNAC is alive and well.

Lest we forget the agenda running our country. I urge everyone to visit the PNAC website, and specifically, read this:

http://www.newamericancentury.org/RebuildingAmericasDefenses.pdf

Also, be aware that the members of this now defunct group have shifted to the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). Interstingly, they are not supporting Obama's 'weak' proposal to drop a few bombs. They want more substantial military action:

..showing that the number of Americans for bombing has increased and will make it more palatable for the Congressmen back home if they agree to bomb.
