It's a lie to say that anti-bombing Dems "don't care about the Syrian people".

The people are in a horrible situation there.
But there's nothing that can be done, militarily, from outside, from The West, to make it any better.
Assad won't care if we hit one of his barracks. He wouldn't even care if we killed his whole damn family. This is a man to whom human life is nothing.
The only people who can be made to change what they are doing through the use of military force are people with some vestige of a conscience...some tiny sliver of humanity left. Assad isn't such a person, and neither is anyone, from what I can see, in his entire family.
Therefore, all any U.S. attack on Syria can do is to make things worse.
Therefore, the people who oppose that attack are the ones who actually care about the well-being of the Syrians.
Those who want the bombs to rain down don't give a damn about those people. If they did, they wouldn't advocate anything that could make the situation any more intense and volatile.
There isn't a John Wayne ending possible here. There isn't even a RAMBO ending(mind you, a RAMBO ending wasn't possible in any of the situations in which any of the RAMBO films were set).
If you actually care about the Syrian people, don't call for U.S. weapons to start killing them. Call for a negotiated settlement. THAT, my friends, is the only possible hope.
