Memphis council votes in support of $500,000 grant for testing thousands of rape kits
Memphis City Council voted in support of a $500,000 grant for testing rape kits.
In addition, members voted in support of the $1 million for a DNA evidence storage room.
The votes comes after the MPD's announcement weeks ago that revealed thousands of rape kits have sat untested on shelves for decades.
