Locals protest building of new McDonalds in Victoria's Dandenongs.

A group of residents in Tecoma, in Victoria's beautiful Dandenong Ranges, has been protesting the building of a new McDonalds in their area. The Victorian government gave Maccas the green light in spite of obections from local residents and the local council.Bulldozers moved in early last month and began preparing the site.

People have been trying to picket the site but have been warned off by local police.

My grandmother used to live in the Dandenongs, and I have the happiest memories of childhood holidays there, so this is special for me.
