Has Obama's Syria policy just handed the Republicans a victory in 2014?

It sure is beginning to appear so. With almost everyone in the USA opposed to another ridiculous intervention in the Middle East, the Repiblicans are going to gain a lot of ground and support. On this issue, I'm cheering for them for the first time in my life.

If Romney was in the white house they would be the first ones to demand an all out war. They are nothing but 100% hypocrites

If they (both branches of Congress) give a yes vote, then both parties will be blamed for any mess that results. If the Senate says yes (as expected) and the House says no, but Obama goes ahead anyway, then Democrats will be in for a shellacking in 2014 and possibly 2016 too in my opinion. If the Senate says yes, the House says no, and Obama bows to the will of the House, then it will probably be a wash.

A war that expands to Saudi Arabia may give us $6.00 a gallon gasoline and a Huge Depression of the global economy. It will certainly alter the political course of American politics.

Meanwhile, the Saudis are doing all they can to stoke this fire. The stand to get a lot of money out of the situation if they can stay in business.

If your scenario came true, America would be very pissed off at whoever was in office.

No one has her celebrity status for POTUS

And the Democrats love nothing more than an Obstructionist Congress™ so they don't have to actually make good on their promises to working class people

(in the public's mind)

No one, and I mean no one, has her celebrity status and brand recognition

It's hers if she wants it, and Obama will have nothing to do with it

Republican control of Congress after 2014 and the country may finally be ready for some real, i.e., non-cosmetic, change.
