That would really say something, if bombing Syria is even nearly so important as saving American lives with quality health care.

i.e., maybe we'd want to blow up some Syrians to get rid of the ACA... it's very dark though, and my interpretation may be wrong.

Boehner wouldn't allow for that. And they couldn't assembly a majority of the GOP caucus for a bill attempted to do such. The hawk/warmaniacs would on principle want a "clean" regime change bill, and the anti-war nationalists would not support the intervention regardless.

10. No. They want war, too. They just don't want to vote for it.

That way, if the public gets angry, the blame goes to the Democrats.

Mark my words: there will be *just* enough Republicans to vote for the authorization to allow it to pass. Ones from safe districts.

11. No because it will take both Ds and Rs to pass a resolution

The Rs are not going to have enough leverage. I also think the resolution isn't going to pass anyway.

14. I think there are enough people who have already decided to vote against it

on both sides that the Republicans won't be able to vote as a block. My guess in the House is it will be close whichever way it goes.
