Representative Rick Larsen Washington State 2nd district, and Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell.
I had to leave a message on Murray's and Cantwell's phone as their recording said they were fielding a very high volume of calls. I actually spoke to an aide in Rick Larsen's office.
I gave them my name, address and phone number. I told all of them that I have voted for Democratic candidates all of my life and I have voted in every single election that I was eligible for. I voted for President Obama twice.
I told them NO, NO, NO on striking Syria and urged them to do the same.
Larsen's office told me they are getting lots and lots of calls. She would not tell me how they were trending.
I've never called my Congress members before but I absolutely had to do it today.
Now it's time to e-mail them too!

(7,768 posts)I may be optimistic, but I believe that the fact that their phones are ringing off the hook means millions of people just like me are calling and saying NO!

(39,961 posts)"on the street" that is for war in Syria. Every single person I've talked to thinks it would be a disaster. It has nothing to do with partisanship, either. Obama voters and Republicans alike all think it's a terrible idea to get involved at all.
