A 19-year-old man died in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon after suffering a serious head injury, according to the New York Police Department.
CNN affiliates report the man was killed after an accident involving a remote control toy helicopter.
CNN affiliate WABC cites sources saying the man was decapitated by the chopper blades, while CNN affiliate WPIX's sources say they took off the top of the man's head.

(16,191 posts)My teenage son flies RC helicopters and quadcopters for fun. Not the cheapie homebuilt ones either...some of his camera carrying heli's cost over a thousand dollars and have blades approaching three feet across.
The blades on his largest heli will leave a nice welt if it whacks you, but that's about it.

I hope it was his own doing because it would be awful for the person controlling it to have to live with that memory. Horrible. Poor guy and his survivors.

(88 posts)Especially the bigger ones. We used to call them flying decapitation machines when I worked in special effects back in the 80's.
