I trust him to seek out the 'facts' and make the right decision regarding Syria. I've got his back! | |

(111,174 posts)so take that.
Do I think McGramps or Romney would have been any better? Of course not, they'd both have been disastrous before things got to this point.
I just wish Obama would take a step back and consider history for a few minutes.
Now our only hope lies with the Clown Congress. Is their ODS severe enough to get them to vote against their favorite toy, war? Or is war just too shiny and enticing to them to deny it to a Democrat?
That's the only question at this point.

(83,668 posts)It is not a black and white situation. There are grey areas.
This is part of what I have read.

I don't want to see us involved, yet can we really sit back when so many are dead 110 thousand died from that attack. Assad will do it again.
and the terrified citizens are hemorrhaging from their country.
Antonio Guterres, head of the Office for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, said an average of almost 5,000 citizens a day are flowing out of Syria, many of them with little more than the clothes they are wearing.
What's particularly alarming, Guterres said, is that number of refugees has surged by 1.8 million in just 12 months up from almost 231,000 a year ago.
They are leaving with the clothes on there backs.

It makes me want to cry. The inhumanity of a crazed dictator, destroying it's people. When does it stop?
There are many here that say, F**k Syria. Some are joking about it. Really? Destroying a human life is not a joke.
I don't know the answers. However I do believe that this President will make the right choice.
It is late for me and I have to work tomorrow. This is the best that I can give you at this time.

(31,893 posts)"facts". Even you have subconsciously recognized it.
I suppose I might have gone ahead and voted "have Obama's back" in your poll, since his back is all I'll ever get when it comes to a great many issues. Yeah, I guess I could say that all I've got is his back when he's turned his back on me.
Dragonfli
(10,622 posts)with his back turned to us, and they wondered why it was received as just that.
I think it was supposed to mean we should "HAVE" his back or something, but most took it as the obvious - that he had turned his back ON us. I know I did.

(28,552 posts)... it's about whether it makes sense or would be right or moral to begin yet another pointless war in another country. It wouldn't, not if Obama wants it, not if Ghandi wants it not if Mother Theresa wants it not if the Pope wants it.
Picking right from wrong based on who is "for" it or "against" is is stupid and an abdication of one's responsibility as a citizen of a nominal Democracy.
Andy823
(11,495 posts)At the same time I don't want to see another war, no matter where it's at. The president has a tough choice to make and he will be damned one way or the other. I for one would not like to be in his shoes. As for all the crap about anyone who supports the president being "warmongers", or cult loyalists or any of the other BS that's being slung, well it's pretty obvious that some here have gone off the deep end and the only agenda they seem to have is bashing the president and those who support him.
