A Government that has money for bombs but not for bridges has lost its credibility.

When the leadership of a nation claims it has all the funds it needs in order to attack another country while cutting programs for the poor and elderly, it is no longer serving the needs of its people.

This is not an attack on Obama or Kerry specifically, it is a statement regarding the government of the United States of America which includes three branches. All are implicated in this statement.

It is a complaint about what we have become.
What is happening in Syria is an atrocity. It is no less an atrocity that we allow our own children to go hungry, our own to die for lack of medical attention, the framework so many have worked for to decay.

We may have military might but we are allowing the strength that supports that might to crumble as we stand by and do nothing.

The situation in Syria is horrendous but it is not the only horrendous situation in the world and we cannot resolve all of them (maybe not any of them) if we cannot support our own people and infrastructure.

This is Obama's fault but it's also the fault of our legislature and courts. They have all put profits before people and have allowed the desires of a few outweigh the needs of the many.

They have all lost credibility.

Part of the problem is the character of those who run for office but part is also the belief that we need to support anyone who runs with a (D) after their name.

I know every election is the most important election in history, but maybe if so called "Democrats" didn't know they'd get our votes when we know they're not going to fight for a Democratic platform, we'd get better candidates.

And for anyone who reads this and screams "NADER!!!!1!!!!111!!" I don't really fucking care.
