Have you considered your reaction if Congress votes NO and a strike is launched anyway by POTUS?

It appears that clearly evident based upon the responses by Kerry and other administration officials including the President, that this option remains open and is a distinct possibility.

Have YOU considered what your reaction will be if this occurs?

Mine is - a sick feeling thisclose to a surety that there is no doubt whatsoever that a Bill will be filed to begin Impeachment hearings in the House within 5 minutes.

I bet the GOP already have one written ready to go.

If this happens I have no doubt that no-one will say: 'Move-On"

This is NOT about sex.

THIS would be a serious Constitutional crisis and it is completely avoidable.

Why do this?

I just hope to God, Barack Obama will abide by the result of the vote taken. Whatever it turns out to be.

because it would clearly be an impeachable offense.

The comparisons with Clinton's impeachment aren't really applicable here. The one we should be thinking about is NIXON!

war and the public would cheer them on. Talk about disconnected! We've been lectured about how we should accept austerity, look at SS for budget cuts, be OK with high unemployment and bailouts for banksters, etc., but we should think another expensive war on shaky pretexts is OK???

I had no idea Mr Obama was so insulated from reality that he could even think this would go over well. Is there no one to whisper into his ear that this is a total folly? He needs somebody like that.

Mr Obama's advisers checking the internet.

So, what did the advisers learn? Did they also check reliable polling on the subject, which to me would be more reflective of citizens' actual feelings as a whole?

In my made up joke type scenario, the fictional advisors learned that they should post more Obama body surfing photo galleries.

What kind of defense is there against that? If they win, we will most assuredly go down the drain, pulling the opening closed behind us. Maybe that was the plan since 2008? We sure did not get who we elected then.

That's just a tad more heavy duty than a cigar and blowjob.

It won't be pretty at all and will most likely see a huge red tide come 2014. Political suicide for anyone touching it.

"The president of course has the authority to act" even if Congress does not support his plan for a military strike on Syria, White House deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken host Steve Inskeep earlier today.

But Blinken also said of the president that it is "neither his desire nor his intention to use that authority absent Congress backing him" ...
