Update On My SSI Appeal, Public Aid, & My Grant
I got a letter today from Congressman Schock about my SSI appeal, that he had a staffer look into, here is what he told me:
Based on the inquiry I made on your behalf, I have received the enclosed interim reply from the social security administration's disability determination services (DDS).
DDS is still researching your claim and my office will be back in contact with you as soon as I recieve any additional information. If you have any questions about this reply, please do not hesitate to contact Bryan Rudolph in my Peoria Congressional office.

He also sent me a copy of the letter they got from the DDS, it says this:
Development of the claim file is still being done. We will continue to keep you informed until a determination is made. If you have any specific questions about this case, please call the disability assistance unit.

I have not heard anything from Public Aid, I filed for cash assistance back in late May and they have still not made a ruling on my claim, or told me why. And btw, by law they are supposed to have a ruling within 30 days, but it's been over 3 months and all they have done is give me a medical card. Which I do not need, because I get free medical care from the OSF Sisters Community Clinic.
I also just filed for a cash grant to help me pay my bills until I find out about my SSI appeal and my Public Aid claim, this was through the Sunshine Lady Foundation, that is run by Warren Buffet's sister Doris.
So I got a postcard from them today that said this:
Your packet of information has been received by the Sunshine Lady Foundation. A consultant will be assigned as soon as possible, however you may not hear from her for at least 8 weeks or more. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

What that means is that most likely I will not get any money from anyone for at least another month or two, and 2 months or more on the Grant. So that means I need to raise another $1.300.00, to pay my bills for October.
I have $1.000 in bills due by October 10th, and a $295.00 Truck Insurance bill due on October 1st.
OneGrassRoot is helping me, but since her Sunday DU OP posting I have only raised $30.00.
