..that syrians should turn over control of WMD to the UN for disposal and destruction.

Big Ed asked if the Russians can be trusted and Gen. Clark said no, but we should explore this possibility. He said this offer was made because of Obama's strong stand.

This letter contains what is thought to be the first recorded use of the phrase "Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick," which was later to become a trademark description of Theodore Roosevelt's foreign policy. Here, Roosevelt, then New York's governor, waxes happily in the knowledge that he has forced the state's Republican leaders to abandon their support for the renomination of the corrupt Louis Payne as the state's insurance commissioner.

Actually volunteered for his short-lived 2004 campaign and got to drive some of his staff (right behind his car) from the airport to the rally in my town. Got to talk to him quite a bit, great fucking guy.
