(22,165 posts)That must mean this guy should have a gun, despite any of his actions (taking the life of an unarmed teen ... because he felt frightened by the kid's very existence, brandishing weapons during "domestic disputes) There were fund raisers for him, because the poor murdering slime's gun was held by feds as evidence.
Yep agree completely ... he was never convicted of a crime.

(240 posts)until more 'evidence', investigation and reporting comes out, this whole incident with his wife and father in law is suspicious and questionable.

(22,165 posts)even a gun enthusiast such as yourself has got to admit ... this guy is not what one would want associated with "gun rights"
Nut cases like him with guns are what engages folk (such as myself) that would like to see much (much) stricter gun control laws.
From my perspective, disassociating themselves (gun enthusiasts) with vermin like Zimmerman would do the gun enthusiast crowd more good than supporting him
HolyMoley
(240 posts)do you?
Zimmermans past, present or future, and/or "gun rights" isn't the main issue here.
It's the near instantaneous conjecture and belief that he's guilty, or solely responsible for the most recent events because of who he is.
This story is what... less than 24hrs old?
And it keeps on changing minute by minute?
Myself, I'd prefer to wait until all the facts are in before I pass judgment.

(421 posts)If you mean this one, no he didn't, Shellie told the 911 dispatcher that he had put his hand on his gun but she had to walk that statement back.

Maybe she meant that he was touching his junk.

(22,165 posts)Not uncommon in domestic disputes. it doesn't mean it didn't happen ... it means the dynamics involved in domestic disputes are extremely complex.
Answer the phone at an abuse hotline sometime
You would do your cause a lot more good if you distanced yourself from the folk that shouldn't be allowed near sharp sticks, much less guns
Edit to add: "On the 911 call, Shellie Zimmerman, who filed for divorce last week, is breathing heavily when she tells a dispatcher that Zimmerman is still at the house.
"He's in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun, and he's saying, 'Step closer.' He's just threatening all of us with his firearm," she says.

(421 posts)If you think that I'm some sort of a gun enthusiast, you would be wrong.
Just read my posts.
If you think I'm a GZ apologist, I assure you I'm not, he's a POS that got away with murder.

(39,343 posts)If you see this car throughout Florida, please yield and give it the right of way. You'd hate to spook the driver and possibly get shot. He's an angry man looking to shoot someone...again. Stay safe.
