Speaker Boehner Talks about Using Debt Limit to Go after Social Security

Keep those cards and letters coming, folks.

http://maddowblog.msnbc.com/_news/2013/08/27/20215447-boehner-vows-debt-ceiling-crisis-wont-be-pretty-and-polite

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), speaking about cutting Social Security benefits at a recent Republican fundraiser in Idaho, said, “We're going to have a whale of a fight.” Boehner went on to say, “I've made it clear that we're not going to increase the debt limit without cuts and reforms that are greater than the increase in the debt limit.” According to the Idaho Statesman, Boehner also said that getting the GOP-controlled House to agree to raise the U.S. debt ceiling will only come with a bipartisan deal to make cost-saving changes to Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, farm programs and government pensions.

Godammit! I want to say: What's wrong with him? but I actually do know what's wrong. He has no need of Social Security, and therefore assumes that no one else really needs it also. He lives inside a privileged umbrella, but he has no clue how privileged he is.

As I walked through the parking lot I noticed a car parked in a handicapped space with a "Romney/Ryan" bumper sticker.

I couldn't decide if it was abject hypocrisy or just plain cluelessness.

I opted for plain cluelessness...

How terrible that is. We should do something. We should remove their leaders. We should bomb them.

Ignoring entirety the vermin that exists in our own leadership.
